Deeds are recorded at Smithfield, RI for a Daniel Wilbur as
early as 1735. In 1737, George Wilbur also purchased land in
Smithfield. This was probably Daniel's brother, George, as land
was transferred in 1744 by George and Rachel Wilbur.

were married by Thomas Aldrich, Justice.

Event Text: will event on 1764

The Last will and Testament of Daniel Wilbour, Late of Smithfield
in the County of Providence this bondsman Dist was Laid on the
board before this Council by Mary Wilbour widow & Relict of the
said deceased who was named executrix in __ will who accepted of
being executrix as she was appointed and she desired that the
will might be proved by this Council and Amy Place and Richard
St___ Esq. was of the witnesses unto said will appeared and on
Solemn Engagement Declared that they saw Daniel Wilbour the
Testator sign & seal said will and did hear him Publish pronounce
and Declare the same to be his Last will & Testament and in his
presence and the presence of each other they signed said will as
witnesses and at the same time Elizabetn A. Orick signed said
will as a witness and Testimony there of the same is hereby
ordered to be recorded.

In the Name of God Amen. The twenty second day of June in the
year of His Majesties Reign George the Third of Great Britain
King AD: 1764. I Daniel Wilbore of Smithfield in the County of
Providence Husbandman: Having Lately Met With a hurt. But being
of perfect mind and memory, do make and publish this Writing to
be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that
is first I Recommend my Soul to allmighty God that Gave it it me
and my body to a Decent Buriel: And as for that Worldy Estate.
Wherewith it has pleased God to Bless me I Dispose thereof as
follows: First I give to my Daughter Mary Herendeen all the
estate of mine that her Husband and She at This Time have in
their Custody: And as to my sons Daniel and William and my
Daughter Abigail I have Already Given them as much as my Estate
will Admitt: Therefore I now give all the Remainder of my Estate
be it of what sort it will after all my just debts are paid: Too
and for the use of my Three Young Children namely Benjamin,
Patience and Dorothy for the Bringing of them up untill they are
capable to take care of themselves: and afterward what remains to
be Equally divided among them all then living and my will is that
what I have given to my said three young children be and remain
in the hands and care of my beloved wife Mary until the proper
time to divide it as aforesaid & then by her to be divided as
aforesaid and as my wife will after my decease have her right of
thirds to & in real estate that has been mine is the only reason
I have not here Provided for her. I hereby constitute and
appoint my said wife sole executrix of this will ratifying &
confirming this & no other to be my last will and testament In
Witness whereof I the said Daniel Willbore have hereto the day
and year above written set my hand and seal. Signed Sealed
published pronounced and declared by the said Daniel Wilbore as
and for his last Will & Testament in presence of us the
