"Benjamin Wilbore in 1704 received all the lands in
Portsmouth, R. I., of his father William Wilbore. He held this
land until 1714 as is shown by the map of that date. This land
is bounded east by the road to Bristol Ferry at the north and
near the present Portsmouth railroad station. He was selling
lands in Portsmouth on December 24, 1720, when he and his wife,
Elizabeth, now of Dartmouth, sold two small islands called
Spectacle Islands to Daniel Rowland. It was about this time that
he moved to Dartmouth, where he died. Part of his children are
recorded in Portsmouth, part in Little Compton and the last
births in Dartmouth. His will is dated Dartmouth, April 1, 1724,
and proved December 1, 1729. He bequeathed: To wife Elizaberth,
one-half of the profits of my homestead farm and use of one-half
of my dwelling house. To son Daniel, 60 pds. To son William,
land in Dartmouth, joining land of James Akin, William Durfey and
Thos. Briggs, Jr. To son Samuel, certain land in Newport, R. I.,
that I purchased of Benjamin Bull. To son Henry, all my
homestead farm and dwelling house and 160 acres of land in
Dartmouth. To son George, 140 pds. To son Joseph, 150 pds. To
son Walter, 150 pds. To son Benjamin, land in Tiverton. To
daughter Abigail Wilbore, daughter Bathsheba and Daughter
Elizabeth Wilbore, 50 pds. each. To daughter Mary, 50 pds."1
